Welcome to Island Designs, thanks for visiting.
The company was founded with the specific purpose of offering web design to small businesses. We looked very closely at what small businesses need from their sites, and also what they don't need, and put together a simple "choose your own features" system.
The site is full of examples of effects that we can add to your site to give your business the edge.
Unfortunately we can't fit every effect into one site (it's "busy" enough as it is!) so we've loaded up a few example pages for you to have a look at. These are homepage only examples and are to inspire you.

The Island Approach
Your Input
You give us an idea of the requirements of your site. It doesn't matter how specific your ideas are, we can work with lots of information (ie you know what images you want, what your colour scheme is, what the layout should be etc) or very little information (I want it to be cool!).
Island Design
All your ideas and any images you want to include are used to produce a website blueprint. This will include examples of the following;
- Wireframes - Line drawings that show the layout of the site.
- Typography - Which fonts we'll use. How big the fonts will be for headings, sub-headings and general text. What colour the fonts will be.
- Colour Scheme - What colours and/or images we intend to use for backgrounds.
- Image List - A list of the un-edited images that we will use on the site and a brief explination of how we intend to use them.
Build
Once you have picked your favourite combination from the blueprint building the site can begin. We usually work on a one day-one page* ratio but this can be more if we are required to take photographs, alter/edit images, add Flash or Javascript items etc. Once the site is built we return it to you to have a last look at and make sure everything is satisfactory.
*One day = 8 hours. This does not guarantee that your site will take this amount of time to complete.
